ISA ACTIVITY - Ancient Monuments of Delhi(International Treasures)

As a part of the ISA Project under the aegis of the British Council,RPS International School Sec-89 conducted an activity-“International Treasures” for classes III - V on Thursday, October 10 2019. The students visited the epitomes of rich cultural heritage of India like Qutub Minar, Parliament house, India Gate. They were left spellbound to see the gigantic structures that can be described as some of the finest examples of architectural skills of Indian crafts men.The excavation site in Qutub Minar showed some direct proof of past era. The chatter in the bus was excited as it had truly been an enriching experience for the children. RPS is firmly determined to transform each and every student into Global Citizen of tomorrow. British Council’s International School Award (ISA) is an ambitious measure taken by school in this regard and the outcomes are phenomenal said school principal-Dr.Roopa Marwaha Bhalla.

World Of Folk Tales - ISA ACTIVITY

Students of class I and II participated in the British Council ISA project ‘The World of Folktales’ with full flair. The aim of this project was to revive the tradition of storytelling and to explore different cultures and enhance literacy skills. The folktales 'Panchtantra','Jataka Tales','Arabian Night' were mainly from India, Burma and UAE. Each was an interesting tale, interspersed with curious characters and an insightful moral at the end. Stories 'The big Lion and a little Rabbit' from Panchtantra, 'Timid Hare' from Jataka Tales, 'Aladdin and the magic lamp' from Arabian Nights etc. were read aloud in class. Students made an oral presentation too on Folktales and supported with elaborate props and costumes. The activity gave students a chance to practice team-building. Dance Forms - ISA COLLABORATIVE ACTIVITY (Lets take you to Spain)

The global citizens of RPS International School sec-89, presented a cultural fiesta in the school premises. The occasion was the ISA collaborative activity 'Dance Forms'. The activity was collaborated with Start Rite School Abuja,Nigeria. A brilliant Folk dance-Flamenco was put forward by the students of classes VI - VIII which portrayed the tradition, culture, and lifestyle of the people of Spain. The complete  activity was actually a learning experience for them. It encourages and bolsters us to showcase our young talent to new audiences and to give platform to those unheard. Through this collaborative enterprise students will learn new dance forms, build the acceptance of diversity of the world, feeling of oneness and sense of respect towards social and culture milieu. The learners had a delightful time in their journey of global learning. The activity was collaborated with Start Rite School Abuja,Nigeria.  A brilliant folk dance-'Giddha' was put forward by the students of classes VI - VIII which portrayed the tradition, culture, and lifestyle of the people of Punjab(India). The complete activity was actually a learning experience for them.  It encourages and bolsters us to showcase our young talent to new audiences and to give platform to those unheard. Through this collaborative enterprise students will learn new dance forms, build the acceptance of diversity of the world, feeling of oneness and sense of respect towards social and culture milieu. Dr.Roopa Marwaha Bhalla, Principal, addressed the gathering and praised the efforts put forward by the students and teachers.

Great Mathematicians of the World-ISA ACTIVITY

They weigh nothing, and you can carry them with you all your life.” Our journey to ISA has been extremely gratifying and enriching which enabled us to explore the teaching-learning patterns of other countries and incorporate the same in our approach and technique of imparting tutelage to our bourgeoning RPSians. As a part of ISA action plan, RPS International School Sec-89 planned and executed ‘Great Mathematicians of the World’-  a display board activity on Thursday, July 11 2019 for classes VI -VIII. The students showcased their research work on Great Mathematicians of India, Iran and China. They displayed  their accomplishments and how the mathematicians used their mathematical abilities to make their mark on the world. Application skills went hand in hand with students' advance numeracy skills as well as problem solving skills. Cuisines Across the Globe-ISA Activity B

“YOU HAVE TO TASTE A CULTURE TO UNDERSTAND IT.” -DEBORAH CATER ISA project titled ‘Cuisines Across the Globe’ was served as a lavish spread which tickled the taste-buds of the students of Class IX & XI on Thursday May 23,2019 with pot-full of knowledge. A mini kitchenette was set up in the school for the “Connoisseur’s concoction” in which Dr.Roopa Marwaha Bhalla,School Principal gave a live demo on preparing lip-smacking dishes like( Dal Makhani ,Palak Paneer,Dhania-Pudina Parantha)Indian, (Cream of Cucumber Soup, Pasta in Mushroom Sauce,Veg Pizza)Italian and (Tom Yum Soup, Fruit Salad in coconut cream dressing,Vegetable in Red Curry with steamed rice )Thai. Students had the opportunity to roll into a culinary coup that led to a complete seizure of taste buds.
